With support from OSISA and JCTR, CSPR conducted a community sensitization event in Nabukuyu Village, Monze-Southern Province on Wednesday 14th December 2022. The main objective of the event is to enhance sensitization of community members on the effects of public debt on service delivery in key sectors such as education and health. This was done in a simplified manner for them to understand, using drama and theatre performances, in addition to teaching placards in form of cartoon and infographics. About 100 community members participated in the event, of which most of them were women and youths. The drama performances also showcased the current IMF program and conditionalities, in addition to the on-going debt restructuring negotiations with our creditors. Community members showed interest to monitor how Government utilizes our public resources as they are the ones that suffer if there is no transparency.
