Project Overview:
CSPR in partnership with the Joint Country Program and Norwegian Church Aid has been implementing a project titled: Fighting Inequality through Budget Execution and Service Delivery Monitoring. The project duration is four years, from 2020 to 2024. The Fighting Inequality through Budget Execution and Service Delivery Monitoring is a continuation of CSPR work in conducting budget tracking and service delivery monitoring in six sectors: Education, Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Water and Sanitation and Social Protection.

The project aims to strengthen the budgetary processes through budget tracking in the Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, Infrastructure and Social Protection sector. The project aims to enhance access to improved quality public services for the poor and vulnerable families in the selected areas. It involves the active participation of the local CSOs and communities, and therefore promote transparency, accountability, and effective and efficient service delivery.

The project has been implemented in five provinces Eastern (Mambwe, Chipata)
North-Western (Solwezi, Mufumbwe), Southern (Choma, Monze) Luapula (Nchelenge, Mansa and Samfya). CSPR achievement on the project is by 2024, the capacity of citizens and civil society organizations (CSO) to hold duty bearers accountable for public service delivery, engaging and influencing pro-poor policy planning, formulation, implementation and Governance at district, provincial and national levels is enhanced.

Strategic focus area Of the Project:
This Project is being managed under the Youth and Women Economic Empowerment, and the strategic focus area is “To facilitate local community access to women and youth empowerment opportunities aimed at promoting and achieving sustainable livelihoods for poorly resourced communities and households in Zambia.
